The Lone Pine Land Trust recently received 23 acres of land donated by Harold DeKleer. We are extremely grateful to Harold for his donation in memory of his wife who loved the beauty of the land and wanted it protected for all time. The biologically rich forested property is situated on the Oak Ridges Moraine at the end of Forget Rd.

The DeKleer Nature Reserve was donated to the Lone Pine Land Trust by Harold DeKleer in memory of his wife Helen in 2019. Located on Forget Rd. in Castleton its 23 acres are rich in biodiversity and natural beauty. Piper Creek and its headwater tributaries flow through the Nature Reserve on their way to Cold Creek. They are fed by multiple springs and seeps along the way as they pass through moist cedar lowlands and mature hemlock forest. At the north end there is a steep rise into deciduous uplands with a view over the valley below..
