The Northumberland Land Trust is the only local, community-based organization that is dedicated to protecting nature through land conservation across Northumberland County. We care for over 1200 acres of critical wildlife habitat in our 14 nature reserves.

Our Mission:

Preserving the natural heritage of Northumberland County by:

  • establishing, sustaining, and protecting natural areas in perpetuity
  • helping others protect the land through leadership, education, and research
  • building partnerships with like-minded organizations and groups

Our Vision:

  • a future where 30% of Northumberland County is protected natural spaces that are representative of original ecosystems and landscapes, and which contribute to the health and wellbeing of residents and visitors
  • to triple lands under Northumberland Land Trust’s direct management by 2030
